BC Astana

BK Astana Tigers is a Kazakhstani basketball club based in the Kazakhstani capital, Astana. The team competes in the First Division of the Kazakhstani National League, having already won 6 championships[1]. The Tigers competed in the 21st FIBA-Asia Champions cup held last May 22–30, 2010, bagging fifth place[2]. BC Astana entered the VTB United League[3] for the 2011-2012 season, making it the first Central Asian team in that league. Having also competed in an Asian tournament, BC Astana has achieved the rare feat of playing in two separate continental tournaments (the VTB United League for European countries and the FIBA Asia Champions Cup).
